The youth work at New North Road is overseen by the Youth Council and our Youth Worker - Dan Wood.
After the first 20 minutes or so of the morning service the children go to their own groups in Junior Church. This time is also used for youth alpha courses aimed at young people (for more alpha information click here). A creche for younger children is held in the Coffee Lounge every Sunday morning.
This is a children's club for those aged 5-12 years old. It is held on alternate Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm and includes games, craft work, sports and teaching. Occasionally in the summer meetings may be held in Greenhead Park.
The church believes that the safety of children and young people is paramount and operates a Child Protection Policy, details of which can be obtained from the minister.
From time to time a four-day children's holiday club is held, usually in the school summer holidays.
Every Thursday in term-time there is a Drop-In for students from the local colleges from 11:30am-5pm in the Basement Room, when light refreshments are available and some indoor sports and music.
Members of the church are also present for conversation and friendship.
The church is very welcoming to students from University or College. Homes are opened to offer Sunday lunches, and sometimes a lunch is provided at church after the Sunday morning service. Students also meet socially after evening services.
